My name is Emma Rothe, and I am ecstatic to be joining the Kazoo School for this year’s summer session as an intern. I just recently graduated from Western Michigan University, where I studied political science and sociology. However, I will be returning in the fall for my master’s degree in social work!

With a background in volunteering, activism, and community organizing, Kazoo School's outward expression of progressive values makes the institution one I am extremely proud to represent. The outdoor aspects of Kazoo School are perfect for me, as I do not feel like myself unless I can enjoy the outdoors as often as possible.

I cannot wait for everything this summer holds for me, including honing professional skills, making new connections, spending time outdoors, and bonding with the office kitties. My name is Jillian Kissel. I am an intern for the summer here at the Kazoo School. I am an undergraduate student at Western Michigan University studying Political Science with a Minor in Spanish. I am entering my final year here at Western, and I am set to graduate in May of 2027. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with the Kazoo School administration and students.
