About:

I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach preschoolers at the Kazoo School!  Our program is rich in experiences for both the students and the faculty.  One of my greatest privileges is getting down on the floor with the children, observing their play, and then adapting our curriculum to the questions and ideas generated by the children.

The work that I am drawn to has always concerned children and families.  This pursuit led me down many paths.  Although I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish, I chose to put my knowledge about children to work as an Adoption Specialist for several years.  I also spent time working with malnourished children overseas, taught in many different schools and preschools, and have made time to be at home with my three growing daughters.

When I have a spare minute, I love to read and write.  A few years back I decided to read all the classic children's novels that I missed during childhood.  This has led to many beloved stories and authors.  Two of my favorite authors are Francis Hodgson Burnett and E. B. White.

I am also the proud owner of a small, yet productive vegetable garden.  I love to dig into the soil and help something grow.  I also like how my children will eat vegetables that they help to plant and pick!

I look forward to many enjoyable years as a part of the Kazoo School community!
