We believe that the diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds represented in the Kazoo School community enriches each member of the larger community. To ensure that our school remains affordable to all families our Board of Trustees has made a commitment to fund need-based scholarship for qualified applicants who need financial support to attend the school. 28% of Kazoo School families receive some level of scholarship. The amounts range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand; the goal is to help families with an economic need.

Kazoo School is a member of School and Student Services (SSS), an organization sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). This third party provides analysis of a family’s financial need to ensure a fair and consistent review of the scholarship application. A family completes an application (online or in writing) and SSS evaluates the family’s assets and liabilities to determine the recommended amount of the scholarship. Information from SSS is kept confidential and is only shared with the Business Manager and Head of School. Families who qualify to receive a scholarship must re-apply annually.

It is the policy of the Kazoo School not to discriminate against any person on the basis of gender, race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, political persuasion, national or ethnic origin, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law in its admission, hiring or financial aid policies.
