Our Mission
Kazoo School nurtures curiosity, creativity, and self-confidence through a school experience that is active and rigorous.
We recognize that students have different talents and needs at different developmental stages and we provide an academically rich curriculum that integrates cognitive, social, emotional, and physical learning opportunities for each child.
We celebrate our cultural differences and embrace a commitment to inclusiveness, sustainability, and the partnership between family and school.

Achieving Our Mission
Our educational program fosters individual academic excellence, a positive self-image, a life-long love of learning, and respect and concern for others. The keystone of this program is a progressive, developmental, interdisciplinary, and integrated curriculum.
Academic Excellence
Faculty challenge students to achieve new goals - to not be content with getting by or doing just enough. Teachers help students to set goals and find joy in mastery. This does not mean that we want our students to be grade or test focused, instead, faculty want students to strive continuously to do their best.
Progressive Education
Progressive education is an approach that focuses on child-centered and developmentally appropriate principles of learning. Kazoo School builds upon the natural curiosity within children to converse, inquire, and construct knowledge from personal, social, and academic experience.
Developmental Education
Every child develops individually and is influenced by his/her own background and life experiences. At Kazoo School, every student's style of learning, rate of learning, and capacity to learn is respected as they are guided to achieve personal academic excellence.
Interdisciplinary Education
Interdisciplinary education combines the study of two or more disciplines to find relationships among them. The intention of inter-disciplinary study is to develop concepts and skills, to draw on student's strengths in one area to help in another area, and to apply what is learned to new and different situations that simulate the "real world".
Integrated Education
Integrated education combines thinking, feeling, sensing, insight and creativity using a variety of teaching methods and learning strategies. It builds upon prior knowledge to introduce new information. In addition, integration combines academic subject areas to equally stimulate habits and disciplines of each subject.
