The Middle School students once again made their annual pilgrimage to South Haven in September for a day of beach clean-up, water quality analysis, community building, and fun. Students sixth through eighth grades spent the morning on Lake Michigan collecting trash and conducting water quality studies. They documented their findings as part of an on-going, long-term scientific study of Lake Michigan beach and water quality conditions. The students also flew the kites they built before-hand as part of their first semester exploration of the physics of flight. After lunch it was time for some much deserved relaxation and team building with cooperative sand castle building.
