Western Michigan University
I come from a family of teachers. My Grandmother had 10 children, raised them alongside my Grandfather, and then went back to school to become a teacher. Teaching and learning is in my blood.
Since 2006 I’ve been a performance artist in the Kalamazoo area, and worked for and with various organizations such as Education for the Arts, Freedom Schools, ABCDance with Wellspring Dance Company, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Western Michigan University, and many KPS and PPS schools. Since 2012 I have also been a Kazoo Summer Session teacher. From the moment I set foot in the school it felt like home, from the warm and friendly staff, the curious and creative children, to the sweet school nestled next to the nature preserve. I feel honored to finally call it home!
I believe that childhood is a truly magical time in life where children should feel loved, safe, empowered to learn, and to treasure their own unique gifts and feel comfortable sharing them with the world…my goal is to nurture the magic within each and every one!
