KALAMAZOO – Kindergarten and middle school students from the Kazoo School spent Tuesday afternoon performing songs, skits, and speeches for residents at Friendship Village.
From small choirs to songs in sign language, impromptu speeches to comedic skits, and instrumental soloists sprinkled in between, the program was a showcase for a variety of talents.
The program was a collaboration between music and theater teachers at the private Kalamazoo school. The students, who perform regularly during school assemblies, enjoyed the performance.
“It felt good knowing we gave back to the community and that they enjoyed it,” said Caroline Yapp, an eighth grader who was involved in multiple acts during the program.
“It was an experience to remember,” said eighth-grader Lily Krone.
