Admissions Procedures
Kazoo School's enrollment process is designed so the school,
parents, and student become acquainted and able to decide
whether Kazoo School is an appropriate environment for the
child.
As a first step, parents are asked to review information
about Kazoo School on this website and to read printed materials
about the school. The next step is to visit.
- Interested parents are encouraged to attend
one or more Open Houses scheduled throughout the year,
or contact
the school office to schedule an orientation meeting
and tour with the Head of School.
- Parents are encouraged to observe in a classroom;
they should contact the school office to make arrangements
for a visit.
- Parents should then complete the Admissions
Application and return it to Kazoo School with the application
fee.
- Upon receipt of the application, the school
will contact parents to schedule a time for first through
eighth
grade applicants to spend a day visiting the school.
- Applicants for Kindergarten and Preschool will
be invited to attend admissions playgroups in early spring.
These one hour-long sessions allow our teachers to assess
students in a school setting and give parents a chance
to meet with the Head of School.
- Parents are encouraged to contact the Head of
School throughout the process with any questions.
- Kazoo School will notify parents about admission
shortly after the student visitation day.
- When a child has been admitted into the Kazoo
School an enrollment contract for the coming school year
is sent
to the family.
- A non-refundable Reservation Deposit is required
after a student has been admitted to Kazoo School. This
deposit, along with the signed contract, reserves a space
for your
child in the school.
- The deposit is deducted from the tuition.
- The School offers need-based financial assistance
to families. Please note your interest in applying for
financial aid in the appropriate space on the admissions
application.
- Please return the completed financial assistance
form to the school office by the May 1 deadline.
- The enrollment process is final when all contracts
and forms are completed and returned to Kazoo School.
Kazoo School serves children of varied abilities and is
committed to challenging and accommodating the diverse educational
